I知 very dejected and disappointed to be leaving the England tour, especially after my run of injuries in the last seven months. I hoped injury problems were behind me.
I broke my toe in Pakistan late last year, which kept me out of the one-day series there and then I broke my thumb when I was coming back before the World Cup and now this, a shoulder injury.
I知 trying to stay strong and I know I just have to pick myself up and concentrate on getting my shoulder right and doing all the rehab that is ahead of me.
I will be starting my physio on Friday. I've been told that I need between six and eight weeks of physio. I値l be working on the rehab back home with Paula Alexander, who is a very good physio who helped me with a back injury two years ago and who also helped me with my thumb this year.
The possibility of me staying on the England tour was discussed between the tour management and the West Indies Cricket Board but they felt that my priority was to work on my shoulder and that I would be better off going home and concentrating on getting fit again, which I was happy to go along with.
Although I知 feeling pretty down at the moment, the upside is that I thought the injury was going to be a lot more serious as I heard a crack when I landed on the shoulder. Thankfully, nothing was broken and it could have been a lot worse.
I知 looking forward to watching the guys on television once I知 back home. I have a great deal of faith in them that they can come back strong in Manchester after a bad game at Headingley.
I was very much disappointed with the way we were bowled out for under 150 in both innings. We have a very talented team but everyone has to play their part and perform their role like at Lord痴.
But I知 backing them to put things right at Old Trafford. I know they have it in them to do much better.
